Sometimes it just gets in your blood.
Skate It Forward sprang from the unwavering bonds formed within the sport of figure skating. As coaches, skaters, and parents involved with the Skating Club of Central Ohio and Skate It Forward, we share a passion for the sport, a deep respect for those who pursue its strict discipline, and a desire to serve the community in which we live.

In 2016, while planning OhioHealth Chiller’s Spring Ice Show, we heard rumblings from many people about how exciting it would be to develop a local charity show. Ideas flew!
Quickly overwhelmed by the amount of work necessary to produce the magnificent show we imagined, we sharpened our pencils and put our dreams on hold for one year so that we could focus on debuting the Skate It Forward Initiative, a collaborative effort of The Skating Club of Central Ohio with The OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rinks, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio.
Throughout all the planning, one idea remained constant- the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio would be our beneficiary. What an extraordinary way to introduce our athletes to service in their community!
During intense planning stages, we discovered how lucky we are to build our dream with fabulous people from each organization and our community. It is humbling, yet inspiring, to create along side such intelligent, selfless people, while bringing Skate It Forward to fruition. Our sincerest appreciation to Ronald McDonald House and OhioHealth Chiller for their invaluable help and unlimited guidance!
“Work” doesn’t get any better than this!
